Junior Cost Accounting Analyst

The Entwistle Company is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Cost Accounting Analyst to build a long-term career in our collaborative and innovative environment.

This role is well suited for an early-career accounting or finance professional who enjoys working with data, researching variances, learning business processes, and helping resolve issues across departments. This role has the potential to grow and adapt, with potential future tasks including but not limited to budgeting, cost forecasting, and project variance analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform daily inventory reconciliation; utilize ERP data and documentation to research and explain variances

Identify potential process, training, or system issues and escalate to management

Maintain a detailed schedule for ledger reconciliations and prepare monthly journal entries

Analyze manufacturing and accounting transactions and communicate with other departments to understand transaction activities and resolve issues

Ensure compliance with GAAP inventory accounting requirements

Assist with transaction corrections, system cleanup, and process follow-up when needed

Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Technical Qualifications:

Minimum Associate degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field; Bachelor's degree preferred

Minimum one year experience in accounting or finance, including reconciliation (2+ years preferred). Relevant internships or co-op experience may apply.

Working knowledge of GAAP concepts and account reconciliation principles

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel

Experience using ERP or accounting systems (2+ years preferred); experience using Global Shop Solutions a plus

Experience in a manufacturing environment required; 2 years preferred

Prior government contractor experience a plus

Experience with modeling in Excel preferred, including nested formulas, pivot tables, and math and logic formulas
