Job description

Journeyman ElectricianJSM Airport Services, LLC is seeking a highly motivated Journeyman Electrician at Boston Logan International Airport (BOS). This is a career-track opportunity, and we are looking for an individual ready to commit to a long-term professional future with our company, starting with an expected commitment of 1 year or more. The primary responsibilities include providing electrical guidance, maintenance, and oversight of all mechanical/electrical systems covered under our maintenance contract, assisting other technicians with challenging electrical repairs, and troubleshooting electrical issues.Compensation:Full-TimeWeekly PayHourly Rate: Starting at $36.00 (Dependent on Experience)Work Schedule:Must be able to work as scheduled (this is a 24-hour, seven-day-a-week operation). Holidays will be included if they fall on a scheduled workday. Shift assignments are based on the airport and company requirements, as well as a technician's strengths, skill set, and experience. Our technicians are expected to be flexible in terms of prospective shift assignments.Benefits and Perks You'll Appreciate:Ongoing career development and training opportunitiesCollaborate with a team in a dynamic environmentComprehensive health benefitsWellness ProgramPaid Time OffPaid HolidaysEmployee Assistance ProgramRetirement Savings Plan with Company MatchEducation and Tuition Assistance ProgramEmployee DiscountsUniform/Footwear ProgramJob Responsibilities:Provide electrical code guidance and direction on new equipment installations and ensure all new equipment/projects are wired to meet code/standardsInstall and repair control and distribution apparatus, including motors, relays, switches, thermostats, circuit-breaker panels, etc.Install and connect power supply wiring, cables, conduit, and electrical apparatus for machines and equipment in new and existing systems and facilities, following diagrams, schematics, or blueprintsDiagnose and resolve problems in electrical circuits, systems, and equipment using testing instruments and equipmentTest continuity of circuits to ensure compatibility and safety of components using testing instrumentsMeasure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduitReceive and complete work orderSelect material and hardware and make time and materials estimatesMaintain accurate records on material and labor usedMaintain inventory of company-owned tools, equipment, and materialsInspect jobs upon completion and ensure areas are cleanWork with construction contractors, airport representatives and supervisors to complete projectsDetect needed repairs on buildings, grounds, and equipment following established inspection proceduresRespond to emergency calls as neededIf there is no specific electrical work to be addressed, assistance/support will be expected in other segments of the contract with the airportSafety and compliance training as assignedPerform other reasonable ancillary duties to support the operation and our customerQualifications:High School Graduate or General Educational Development (GED)Some post high school education or training preferredMust be able to read, write, speak and understand EnglishEducation/Certification: State Journeyman Electrician LicenseMust have at least three to five (3-5) years of experience in the commercial electrical fieldKnowledge of electrical circuits and wiring and operating principles of motorsKnowledge of local electrical codesAbility to read blueprints, schematics, and written reference materialAbility to follow written and verbal instructionsAbility to perform mathematical calculationsAbility to diagnose and resolve problemsAbility to use hand and power toolsPhysical Requirements:Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all dayAbility up to lift up to 70 pounds; exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally with or without accommodation, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly.Ability to climb ladders and navigate safely on catwalks and other elevated surfaces within height-constrained environments.Ability work in and around baggage handling systems, passenger boarding bridges, or other related equipmentRegular exposure to work near moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, cleaning/maintenance chemicals, cold and vibration.Ability to withstand exposure to potentially loud noise levels.Ability to withstand exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, or other weather-related conditions.Additional Requirements :The applicant must be able to successfully pass a drug screen (we promote/maintain a Drug Free Workplace), a background check, have a driver's license and required federal fingerprinting, security threat assessment, as well as airport security badging, for continued employment.Affirmative Action, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Equal Employment Opportunity at JSM:At JSM, we recognize that Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is Good for Business.Our goal is to attract good job candidates, retain our best employees, and create a more engaged and productive workforce.
