Lifeguard SupervisorPosition: Lifeguard SupervisorWork Site: Kirtland/ Shiprock Swimming PoolSummary: Work in conjunction with the pool manager to maintain a safe and clean environment. Must have a current lifeguard certificate.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Keep patrons safe while swimming at the facilities.Will help keep the facility clean, sanitary, and safe.May be asked to obtain a WSI certificate to teach swimming lessons.Communicate respect with other co-workers.Maintain respect for patrons and those visiting the facility.Maintain a current lifeguard certificate at all times.Maintain a safe work environment.Attend all required professional development activities.Comply with all Board of Education policies, administrative regulations, Public Education Department guidelines, and local, state and federal laws.Other duties as assigned, reasonably related to the scope of the position.Minimum Qualifications:Lifeguard CertificateFirst Aid/ CPR/ AED certifiedMust at least be 16 years of ageKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:Knowledge of Dine language, culture, and history preferredGood communication skills and customer service skillsPhysical/Job Requirements:Standing, sitting, walking, lifting, carrying up to 50 pounds, climbing, bending, reaching, kneeling, driving a vehicle, traveling long distances, writing, typing, word processing, reading, researching information, and effective communication skills.Safety and Health:Knowledge of universal hygiene precautionsCompleted and cleared background checkPass drug test if required for positionKnowledge and compliance with district and school Safety PlansEquipment/Material Handled:Multimedia equipment, including current technologyEquipment/materials relevant to the job responsibilitiesValid driver license and insurable by district if necessaryWork Environment:Must be able to work within various degrees of noise, temperature and air qualityWork interruptionsFlexibilityMust be self-motivated and able to complete job assignment without direct supervisionMust complete applications and assignments within the timeframes allowedExtended work hours, on occasionTerm of Employment: Casual
