This contract position is an on‑site role that provides a unique opportunity to contribute to patient care in a dynamic medical practice environment.
In this role, you will play a vital part in administering anesthesia and monitoring patients throughout their surgical procedures. You will work closely with surgeons and other healthcare professionals to ensure the highest standards of patient safety and comfort. This position is perfect for an associate‑level physician looking to advance their career in anesthesiology while providing exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities
Administer anesthesia to patients undergoing surgical procedures
Monitor patient vital signs and adjust anesthesia as necessary
Conduct pre‑operative assessments and discuss anesthesia options with patients
Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure optimal patient care
Provide post‑operative care and manage any anesthesia‑related complications
Maintain accurate medical records and documentation
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and safety protocols
Stay current with advancements in anesthesiology practices and technologies
Requirements
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree
Current board certification in Anesthesiology
Valid medical license to practice in the state of Iowa
Experience in a clinical anesthesiology setting
Strong knowledge of anesthesia techniques and pharmacology
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively in a team‑oriented environment
Strong attention to detail and patient‑centered approach
Schedule: Friday (5p-7a) or weekends (7a-7a)
Annual Volume: 3,600 surgical cases
Case Types: Orthopedics, L&D, spine, GI, gynecology, urology, cath lab, interventional radiology, bariatric bypass, and minimal vascular cases
Support Staff: Anesthesiologists, CRNA, and anesthesia tech
EMR: Epic
Must be board-certified
