Practice Setting:
Outpatient infectious disease specialty clinic
Location:
Greensboro, North Carolina, a vibrant community known for welcoming neighborhoods, parks, cultural attractions, and convenient access to the broader Piedmont Triad region
Weekly Estimated Pay:
$3,730–$4,000
Start Date:
December 14, 2026
Contract Duration:
52 weeks, through December 13, 2027
Schedule:
Approximately 5 days per week; Monday through Thursday 8-hour shifts plus a Friday half-day
Shift:
Daytime, 8-hour shifts
Patient Volume:
Approximately 12–15 adult patients per day

Clinical Support:
Registered nurses, clinical medical assistants, and physicians
Infectious Disease Physician Assistant Requirements
At least 3 years of Physician Assistant experience; infectious disease experience is strongly preferred
Recent experience caring for and managing adult patients with HIV is required
Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
Active Physician Assistant license in North Carolina
Current board certification through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), obtained within the applicable certification timeframe
Current DEA registration
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Strong clinical assessment, communication, documentation, and patient education skills
Infectious Disease Physician Assistant Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive outpatient assessments and physical examinations for adult infectious disease patients
Review medical histories and interpret diagnostic tests and results to develop effective treatment plans
Provide ongoing care for patients with HIV and other complex infectious diseases
Conduct preventive health screenings based on each patient’s age, history, and individual needs
Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment options, medications, follow-up care, and preventive health
Perform office-based infectious disease and specialty care procedures within established clinical guidelines and scope of practice
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the Epic electronic medical record
Collaborate with physicians, registered nurses, clinical medical assistants, and other members of the healthcare team
Identify opportunities to improve outpatient infectious disease care through clinical problem-solving and evaluation of operational processes
