Job description
Locum To Perm Invasive Cardiology Opportunity
Locum to perm Invasive Cardiology opportunity providing inpatient, outpatient, clinic, and call coverage. This position is to support an existing cardiologist during ongoing recruitment and will transition to a permanent role once onboarded.
Inpatient, outpatient, clinic, and call responsibilities
Call ratio: 1:6
Average clinic volume: 10 patients per day
Average inpatient admissions: 12–15 per physician per day
Adult and geriatric patient population
Supervision of 4 Advanced Practice Clinicians (APCs) required
Collaborative cardiology team environment
Epic EMR
Start date: ASAP
Duration: Until permanent physician is onboarded
Full-time coverage required (Monday–Friday + call)
Estimated credentialing timeframe: 120 days
Local providers only (travel limited to mileage reimbursement)
Electrocardiograms (EKGs)
No invasive procedures required
Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) Certified – REQUIRED
Advanced Heart Failure (AHF) Fellowship with LVAD experience – REQUIRED
ACLS – REQUIRED
Active Virginia medical license – REQUIRED
DEA – REQUIRED
Must be local to Richmond, VA – REQUIRED
Clean background (temps may be offered) – REQUIRED
Locum to perm. Permanent placement following successful locum coverage.
