Job Details Position: Locum Tenens Anesthesiologist Location: Newport News, Virginia 23601 Start Date: August 3, 2025 Assignment Length: Approximately 100 weeks Weekly Estimated Pay: $8,910 - $9,390 Shifts Per Week: 4 Shift Duration: 10-hour day shifts Hours Per Week: 32 Schedule: Monday through Friday with occasional overtime Credentialing Timeframe: 60 - 90 days EMR: ICARE / Epic Case Mix: OB, ortho, neuro intervention, vascular and trauma, GI, GU, GYN, thoracic, CVIR, MRI, endoscopy, ACS, and minimal pediatrics Job Requirements Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree from an accredited medical school Completion of an approved residency in Anesthesiology Board certification required Current physician license required ECFMG and FLEX required, if applicable At least 1 year of anesthesia experience required Ability to work in a supervision model and participate in call coverage as needed Responsibilities Assist in directing and coordinating activities within the Anesthesia Department Provide medical management for patients undergoing surgery and other medical procedures Perform pre-anesthesia evaluations and obtain or verify informed patient consent Discuss anesthetic options, risks, and perioperative care plans with patients Manage induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia Monitor patient physiological status throughout anesthesia care Respond with appropriate clinical intervention when needed Support call coverage, including third call and weekend call responsibilities Apply now for this locum tenens anesthesia job in Newport News, Virginia and join a respected healthcare team serving a diverse surgical population.
