Job description
Access Control TechnicianIn this role you will be responsible for installation on access control equipment and IP based video systems including but not limited to: electrified and non-electrified locks, card readers, ancillary door devices, IP and analog cameras, head-end video recording devices, wired and wireless systems and intercom systems, PLC systems, VFD systems, PSP systems, FCU systems, PLC systems.ResponsibilitiesInstalls electrical equipment and systems at Tesla Nevada, employing technical, interpersonal, and critical thinking skillsPerforms Low Voltage cabling installations, covering New Commercial Data, Access Control, Fiber Optic, Fire Alarm Cable, and HVAC CableInstalls Access control equipment, data equipment (e.g., data racks, patch panels, cable trays), and works with electronic control systemsSupports controls group in troubleshooting, upgrading, and new installations of systemsConsults manuals and interprets circuit diagrams, blueprints, and schematicsRepairs and adjusts system components, including the removal and replacement of defective partsWorks on projects throughout the facility, utilizing lifts and ladders, and employs complex electrical schematics and blueprints for troubleshooting and correctionRequirements5+ years of experience as a Site Support Technician or in a similar roleProficient in installing j-hooks, ladder racks, and cable trays in IDF/MDF/MPOE environmentsSkilled in using hand tools, electrical meters, and testing equipment for Low Voltage Cabling & Instrumentation and ControlsAble to read and comprehend wiring diagrams, loop drawings, and P&ID drawingsStrong troubleshooting knowledge of motor controls, drives, and electronic componentsCapable of interpreting complex electrical prints and schematics for effective troubleshooting and correctionVersatile team player with strong interpersonal skills, high initiative, and the ability to work independently or collaborativelyCompensation & BenefitsBenefitsAlong with competitive pay, as a full-time Tesla employee, you are eligible for the following benefits at day 1 of hire:Medical plans > plan options with $0 payroll deductionFamily-building, fertility, adoption and surrogacy benefitsDental (including orthodontic coverage) and vision plans, both have options with a $0 paycheck contributionCompany Paid (Health Savings Accounts) HSA Contribution when enrolled in the High-Deductible medical plan with HSAHealthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)401(k) with employer match, Employee Stock Purchase Plans, and other financial benefitsCompany paid Basic Life, AD&DShort-term and long-term disability insurance (90 day waiting period)Employee Assistance ProgramSick and Vacation time (Flex time for salary positions, Accrued hours for Hourly positions), and Paid HolidaysBack-up childcare and parenting support resourcesVoluntary benefits to include: critical illness, hospital indemnity, accident insurance, theft & legal services, and pet insuranceWeight Loss and Tobacco Cessation ProgramsTesla Babies programCommuter benefitsEmployee discounts and perks program
