Job TitleResponsible for setting up and operating assigned machinesJob DescriptionGE Aerospace Terre Haute. The Terre Haute site is comprised of two facilities – component manufacturing and assembly – of complex combustors & structures engineered for commercial and military aircraft engines.A Few Reasons To Consider UsQuarterly performance based bonus up to $1300 every quarter (4x/year)10% pay differential for 2nd/3rd shiftHealthcare Benefits eligible on day one of employmentMonthly employee engagement events12 annual paid holidays; vacation eligible at day 30 of employmentClimate-controlled building out of the elementsTuition reimbursement benefitEssential ResponsibilitiesRuns product as requiredCompletes machine set-upLoads tool and tool holders as requiredJaw cutting and re-cuttingSets fixture offsets as requiredVerifies correct tool hardware, tool diameter, tool radius, drill length and end millsVerifies accuracy of tool offset changes as neededPerform periodic inspections of calibrationRead and process parts and visual braze inspectionMaintains accurate work recordsUtilizes precision measuring instruments to inspect partsWillingness to support team concept and learn/perform other duties as requiredQualificationsHigh School Diploma or GEDCurrently enrolled in Ivy Tech Community College Machining ProgramPossess strong analytical and problem solving skillsRead, understand and utilize procedures, sketches, and blueprints as well as perform basic mathematical calculationsHave working knowledge of precision measuring equipment and demonstrated ability to work within a team environmentCommunicate effectively and professionally with others, both written and verbalFollow and promote safe work practicesSupport lean initiativesLift light to medium weight in an environment that may occasionally require crouching, stooping and / or awkward work positionsWillingness to support team concept and learn / perform other duties as requiredMilling and Turning experienceThis role may encounter high risk or hazardous operations and/or include working shifts beyond a standard workweek.
