Maintenance Supervisor - Adventures on the GorgeThe Maintenance Supervisor plans, organizes, schedules, assigns, and evaluates the work of subordinates and provides training and counseling as needed. Assures adequate supplies, materials and equipment are available to crew; orders supplies, and materials as needed. Works with other management.Job Responsibilities:Supervises and participates in building and facilities maintenance and repairAssures that proper safety standards and precautions are followedInspects completed work to ensure work is completed accuratelyEnsures that equipment is in proper working orderSupervises the maintenance of equipmentOperates tools and equipment of the building maintenance and construction trades in a safe and effective manner as neededTrain and counsel subordinate employeesPrepares cost estimates on proposed projectsPrepares and maintains records for weekly and monthly reportsKeep records and prepare reportsPrepares time records for payroll purposesQualifications:Requires at least 5 years of progressive, responsible experience in one or more of the skilled tradesLeadership skills and experience preferredRequires a high school diploma or equivalent experienceConsiderable knowledge of practices, methods, and techniques pertaining to building, grounds and facilities maintenance and repairMust be well organized, computer literate with solid understanding of MS office softwareAbility to communicate optimally, both orally and in writingPossess and maintain a valid driver's licenseMust understand the value of a work order system to support implementation of CMMSExperience with CMMS systems and building management systems is a plusA universal refrigeration certificate a plusConsiderable knowledge of safety standards and precautions pertaining to building and facilities maintenance and repair and the use of power toolsTraining in government safety regulations a plus where applicableAbility to work long hours in inclement weather and emergency situations, such as snow removal operations, storms, etc.Ability to effectively communicate on radios; and hear over equipment noiseAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, vendors, and the publicAbility to wear a respirator and/or self-contained breathing apparatus as outlined in the Industrial Standard for Respirator Use
