Maintenance Technician

Are you a hands-on problem solver who takes pride in delivering exceptional service and maintaining a community residents are proud to call home? Oakbrook Corporation is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our team at Brenwood Park Apartments, a vibrant 158-unit, 55+ community.

In this role, you'll help create a comfortable, safe, and well-maintained environment for our residents while working alongside a team that values integrity, customer service, accountability, and teamwork. What It's Like to Be a Maintenance Technician

No two days are the same. From completing service requests and troubleshooting maintenance issues to conducting preventative maintenance and preparing apartments for new residents, you'll play a key role in ensuring Brenwood Park remains a welcoming and attractive community.

Duties & Responsibilities

Perform maintenance and repairs on HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, appliances, and other building components

Complete assigned work orders efficiently and professionally

Assist with apartment turnovers, including preparing units for new residents

Conduct routine, preventative, and scheduled maintenance throughout the community

Maintain grounds, common areas, and building amenities to company standards

Coordinate vendor and contractor services as needed

Perform safety inspections and identify potential maintenance concerns

Assist with maintaining repair and maintenance budgets

Respond to emergencies and report accidents or safety concerns promptly

Support nearby Oakbrook communities when needed

Participate in an on-call rotation schedule

Demonstrate and uphold Oakbrook's Core Values

Perform other duties as assigned

Are You the Maintenance Technician We're Looking For?

Successful candidates will demonstrate:

Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities

Exceptional attention to detail

A commitment to quality workmanship

Professional and respectful communication with residents, vendors, and team members

The ability to work independently and prioritize multiple responsibilities

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Experience in residential property maintenance or a related field preferred

Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and general building maintenance

Ability to manage multiple maintenance projects and service requests

Strong customer service and interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Basic Requirements

High school diploma or GED required

Trade school education or relevant certifications preferred

Must provide personal hand tools required for the position

Valid driver's license required

Ability to lift, carry, climb, and perform physical maintenance duties with or without reasonable accommodation
