What Will You Enjoy Doing

Main Responsibilities:

Coordinates with Shift Supervisor the packaging needs on production equipment

Ensures all lines are adequately supplied with materials needed. For example: Foil

Cartons

Trays

etc.

Assists Packaging Operators as needed to ensure a smooth workflow Setup and operate multiple types of packaging equipment. Equipment may include, but is not limited to: carton erectors, partition inserters, product inserters, top closers, palletization equipment

Ensures labels correctly match the product in facilities where manual labeling is required

Manage and assign break schedule for packers

Support troubleshooting and training initiatives for Packers

Audit packer standard work and completion

Audit packer quality checks and completion

Performance Metrics:

Completion of staffing report for packer staff

Completion of package paperwork

Updated and completion of packer training documentation

What Makes You Great

Qualifications and Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent required

6 months of Packaging Operator experience preferred

Some lead experience preferred

Good mechanical skills

Capable of lifting 25 pounds and standing for a minimum of 12 hours

Able to work with multiple types of equipment simultaneously

The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms and very occasionally to climb or balance.

The employee is occasionally required to sit.

The employee must regularly lift and/ or move up to 10 lbs, frequently lift and/or move up to 30 lbs and occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 lbs.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close.

It is required to act in a safe and environmentally responsible manner at all times by adhering to all ALPLA policies and procedures and Safety Standards (OSHA).
