Job description
JOB DESCRIPTION Our client is seeking an experienced Marine Mechanic to join their team. This individual will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of marine engines and equipment while ensuring high-quality service for customers and boat owners. The ideal candidate is a hands-on mechanic with strong troubleshooting skills and experience working on both gas and diesel marine engines.
Responsibilities
-Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues on marine engines, including gas, diesel, and outboard motors.
-Perform preventative maintenance and routine service on marine vessels, vehicles, and yard equipment.
-Conduct safety inspections and recommend necessary repairs or maintenance.
-Accurately track labor hours and complete required service documentation.
-Submit parts requests and coordinate with the parts department as needed.
-Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
-Follow all shop safety procedures and company standards.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
-2+ years of mechanic experience, preferably in marine, automotive, diesel, heavy equipment, or related industries.
-Experience troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems.
-Ability to work independently and efficiently in a service environment.
-Must provide and maintain personal mechanic tools.
-Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain productivity.
-Knowledge of workplace and shop safety practices.
NICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
-Marine engine repair experience.
-Experience working with diesel engines and outboard motors.
-Marine certifications or technical training are a plus.
