This vision is supported by our core values of Collaboration, Innovation, Diversity and Inclusion, Integrity, and Accountability.Job Requirements:Education:Required:High School Diploma or equivalent1+ years of working experience as a Medical Assistant in a Hospital, Primary Care, Emergency Department, or Urgent Care settingOne of the following MA certifications at the time of hire (or must obtain within 12 months of hire):CCMA- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (verified through NHA, National Health career Association)CMA- Certified Medical Assistant (verified through AAMA, American Association of Medical Assistants, or CHP Certified Health Professionals)RMA- Registered Medical Assistant (verified through AMT, American Medical Technologists, or AAH, American Allied Health, or ARMA American Registry of Medical Assistants)NCMA- National Certified Medical Assistant (verified through NCCT, National Center for Competency Testing)NRCMA- Nationally Registered Certified Medial Assistant (verified through the National Association for Health Professionals)Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing, LPN or LVN at the time of hire (verified through state license)EMT- Emergency Medical Technician (verified through state certification and/or the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians)Paramedic (verified through state certification and/or and the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians)Required Licenses/Certifications:CPOE certification required within 2 weeks of hire if MA certification is not obtained at hireBasic Life Support (BLS) required at the time of hire obtained through the American Red Cross (ARC) or American Heart Association (AHA)One of the following certifications is required (or must obtain within 12 months of hire):CCMA- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (verified through NHA, National HealthCareer Association)CMA- Certified Medical Assistant (verified through AAMA, American Association of Medical Assistant)RMA- Registered Medical Assistant (verified through AMT, American Medical Technologists or AAH, American Allied Health)NCMA- National Certified Medical Assistant (verified through NCCT, National Center for Competency Testing)NRCMA – Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (verified through the National Association for Health Professionals)Essential Responsibilities:Register patients and verify insurance and documentationSchedule appointments and process co-paysPrepare patients for examination and record medical historyPerform vital signs and preliminary patient assessmentsConduct point-of-care testing (flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, HCG)Assist providers with patient care and proceduresMaintain exam rooms, supplies, and medical recordsAnswer patient questions and coordinate referralsPerform opening/closing duties and maintain equipment quality checksSupport a safe, organized, and patient-centered clinical environmentAll other duties as assigned.Note: This job description is not inclusive of all the duties of the position.
