Medical AssistantChildren & Adolescent Health - 103 - Kansas City, MO 64124OverviewPosition Type Full Time Category Health CareDescriptionWe are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to support our clinical team in delivering exceptional care to patients of all ages—from infants to seniors. In this role, you'll be the bridge between patients and providers, ensuring each visit runs smoothly and efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of care and professionalism.Key Responsibilities:Greet and room patients, obtain and record vital signs and medical historyPrepare exam rooms and assist providers during examinations and proceduresAdminister medications and vaccines as directed by a providerProcess prescription refills and communicate with pharmacies as neededPerform basic laboratory tests and ensure proper specimen handlingMaintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)Clean and sterilize instruments and maintain a sanitary clinical environmentAssist with front office duties such as scheduling, referrals, and answering phonesProvide patient education and support for follow-up care instructionsEnsure compliance with clinical protocols and regulatory standardsBenefits:403(b) retirement plan with employer matchingHealth insurance (medical, dental, and vision)Health Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Spending Account (FSA) optionsPaid Time Off (PTO)Life insurance coverageEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent.Knowledge of medical terminology and acceptable approved abbreviations.Certification from an accredited school for Medical Assistance or Associate degree in Medical AssistanceCurrent Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association (AHA) or Health Care Provider from Red Cross. Must have current BLS card or in the process of getting CPR certified before hire.
