Job description

Pulmonx is a global leader in interventional pulmonology, providing minimally invasive technologies, planning tools, and evidence-based treatments for people living with severe emphysema and advanced chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), a progressive lung condition characterized by severe breathing difficulty that can significantly restrict daily activities and negatively impact quality of life.

Headquartered in Redwood City, California, with major operations in Neuchâtel, Switzerland, Pulmonx developed Zephyr® Endobronchial Valve, an FDA Breakthrough Device now included in major international treatment guidelines and supported by robust clinical evidence. Pulmonx has an integrated portfolio of complementary planning and assessment tools that enable precision-medicine approaches to patient care.

Pulmonx has treated tens of thousands of patients worldwide and has robust clinical evidence underpinning its products, including four randomized controlled trials and over 100 peer-reviewed publications. Pulmonx offers regulatory professionals the opportunity to work on a differentiated, globally distributed product portfolio encompassing innovative devices, digital health solutions, and emerging technologies designed to meaningfully improve outcomes for patients with advanced lung disease.

Overview

As the Medical Education & Clinical Training Manager at Pulmonx, you will lead the design and execution of our HCP-facing medical education strategy and serve as the primary architect of clinical training content across the Education & Training organization. You will build the programs, content, and clinical infrastructure that enable clinical adoption of the Zephyr® Endobronchial Valve — and equip our clinicians with the clinical fluency and instructional tools they need to perform Zephyr Valve procedures confidently.

Responsibilities

Execute Pulmonx’s HCP-facing Medical Education strategy, including fellowship programs, proctoring and mentorship (MPP), CME/CEU programming (RT CEU), the Pulmonx peer-to- peer program and KOL development initiatives.

Design, develop, and maintain clinical education content across formats including slide decks, interactive PDFs, case simulations, and facilitated learning programs.

Translate complex clinical data into compelling, accurate, and field-ready educational content.

Identify and close content gaps across clinical competency domains, including patient selection criteria, procedural fundamentals, and HCP-facing clinical education to support evidence-based adoption of the Zephyr Valve.

Develop eLearning modules, case scenario libraries, educational frameworks, and faculty training guides in partnership with subject matter experts.

Build and manage relationships with physician faculty, proctors, and KOLs; coordinate scheduling, content alignment, and program execution.

Partner with Medical Affairs, Clinical, Regulatory, and Marketing to ensure all content is scientifically accurate, on-label, and aligned with approved claims language (MMA# workflow, DocuSign execution, claims review).

Manage program budgets, vendor relationships, and external partners including consulting agencies and medical education organizations.

Serve as a core member of the Education & Training organization, working alongside Sales Training and Operations counterparts to deliver an integrated education experience.

Requirements

Minimum of 7 years of experience in Medical Education, Medical Affairs, Clinical Education, or a related function within medical devices, diagnostics, or life sciences.

Bachelor’s degree required; clinical degree (RRT, RN, PA, NP) or advanced degree in a life sciences field is a plus.

Strong clinical fluency — ability to read and interpret clinical study data, imaging reports, and procedural literature; able to hold credible peer-level conversations with clinicians.

Demonstrated experience developing medical education content: curriculum design, slide deck development, case simulations, or facilitated learning programs.

Exceptional writing and communication skills with the ability to translate complex science into clear, accurate, and compelling content for multiple audiences.

Strong project management capabilities; ability to manage multiple concurrent programs, vendor relationships, and cross-functional stakeholders with minimal direction.

Experience working in a regulated industry with a working understanding of promotional vs. educational content distinctions and medical-legal review processes.

Background in pulmonology, interventional pulmonology, thoracic surgery, or COPD disease state education preferred.

Experience managing physician faculty relationships, CME/CEU program logistics, or proctorship/mentorship programs preferred.

Instructional design experience or formal training in adult learning principles (ADDIE, SAM, or equivalent) preferred.

Experience with LMS platforms (Showpad, Veeva Vault, or similar) and digital content delivery preferred.

Compensation: 130-165K
