Medication AideCall today to learn more about joining the Timberview team! Position Summary: Provide medications and treatments to residents while upholding service standards, philosophy, and mission.Position Responsibilities – Service:Administer medication and treatments in a timely manner and per physician ordersReorder medication as needed to ensure that medications are available when neededReport to medication aide relieving youCount narcotics at beginning and end of shift. Report any discrepancy to AdministratorRemain on duty until relieved by another medication aideTranscribe physician’s order to MARS when received and fax to pharmacyRecord vital signs on MARSStock medicine cartsCall resident’s physicians to report the need of appointment or medicationFollow medication management planCommunicate with facility pharmacy of supply needsDesignated person in charge when administrator is not on siteParticipate in and attend all required in-services training sessionsCommunicate any staff or resident issues with the administratorAll tasks listed on Direct Care Aide Job descriptionAll other duties assignedTeam Effort:Assist in ensuring compliance with State and Local RegulationsAppropriately interact with resident, family member, and other guestAssist all department with other duties as needed and/or assigned by administratorAction:Respond to resident emergencies and act accordinglyCommunicate any resident concerns/issue to the appropriate person in a timely mannerPractice safety in working around and with equipment, chemicals, tools, and utensilsNo horse playing or agitating residentReputation:Maintain professional relationships with all employees - no arguingMaintain good hygiene and a professional appearanceSuccess:Contribute to resident satisfaction by ensuring that customer’s expectations are met or exceededMaintain efficient and appropriate communication with residents, family members, and guestContribute to marketing efforts through appropriate interaction with prospective resident and guestEssential skills, experience, and abilities:Maintain current Registration with the StateAbility to organize and manage multiple prioritiesStrong customer orientation to older adultsExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsPositive attitude, enthusiasm, and energyAbility to read, write, and comprehendPrevious experience working in a senior living environmentNonessential skills and experience:High school diploma or equivalent certificateReporting to the position: No direct reportsDress Code:Nursing Uniforms / Scrub type clothingTennis, Nursing, or Croc type shoes need to be slip resistance. Intermittent physical activity includes lifting and supporting residents. The employee must use proper body mechanics. The employee must be free of diseases that can be transmitted in the performance of job responsibilities during the stage of communicability.Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to minimal to moderate noise. The employee occasionally works in high precarious places and is frequently exposed to heat and risk of electrical shock. The employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions and is exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemical, extreme cold, and vibration. The employee will be exposed to blood and/or body fluids. The employee may encounter traumatic situations, such as having to care for mentally ill resident and contact the deceased residents.
