At Merrimack Health, we are committed to pay transparency and equity. The base salary range is $24.30 to $36.12 hourly, excluding fringe benefits and potential bonuses.
nYour final base salary will be determined based on your education, experience, licensure, and internal equity considerations. Offers are typically made below the top of the range to support future salary growth.
nOur two campuses in Methuen and Haverhill have a total of 320 beds and we are a full service, acute care hospital offering comprehensive inpatient medical/surgical units, outpatient care, and 24/7 emergency services. We have three behavioral health units, cardiac telemetry, and critical care service lines. Our Haverhill campus offers all private rooms, and our Methuen campus offers a new state-of-the-art catheterization suite and Joint Center of Excellence named as a Blue Cross Blue Shield Blue Distinction+ Center for Knee and Hip Replacement.
nPosition Summary: COTA Center for Behavioral Medicine- FT 40 Hours Days
nJob Description:
nThe Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), under the direct supervision of the OTR/L, assists with the occupational therapy, evaluation, and treatment of patients in individual and group settings. The COTA will also assist with the daily therapeutic responsibilities of the Behavioral Health Program. Prior experience in Behavioral Health setting is preferred
nEssential Functions:
nnnFacilitates therapeutic group programming under the supervision of the OTR/L.

nnAdheres to the current schedule using performance metrics to guide documentation
n
nnModifies activities as needed for patients during group sessions
n
nnProvides 1-1 treatments/interventions as necessary for patients unable to attend group sessions
n
nnParticipates in interdisciplinary team meetings
n
nnEstablishes and maintains effective therapeutic and working relationships
n
nnReceives continuing education required for job function
n
nnCompletes work assignments within an acceptable time frame.
n
nnUses time and resources to the best possible advantage for successful completion of job responsibilities.

n nMinimum Qualifications
nnnEducation: Associate degree from ACOTE accredited program
n
nnCertification/Licensure: Licensed in Massachusetts (COTA/L), BLS certification from AHA or Red Cross
n
nnOther: Minimum of one year’s experience in occupational therapy setting.
