Detailed Job Description
As an Oracle Xstore Developer at Signature IT World Inc in St. Louis, MO or Charlotte, NC, you will take full ownership of designing, building, testing, and supporting complex retail POS solutions and L3 infrastructure. Your day-to-day responsibilities encompass engineering high-performance Java Spring Boot microservices, optimizing SQL queries, building and consuming REST and SOAP APIs (XML, JSON), and delivering specialized L3 support for Oracle Retail POS, Oracle Xstore POS, or GK POS systems. You will utilize version control and build automation toolchains including SVN, Git, Bugzilla, Eclipse, Jenkins, and GitLab. Working in a fast-paced retail technology consulting environment offering a long-term contract, you will drive mission-critical retail systems reliability and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, customize, test, and support enterprise-grade Oracle Xstore POS and retail point-of-sale solutions.
Provide specialized L3 support, complex troubleshooting, and rapid incident resolution for Oracle Retail POS, Xstore, and GK POS platforms.
Develop robust backend microservices and enterprise applications utilizing Java, Spring Boot, and foundational Spring frameworks.
Design, write, and optimize complex relational database queries, schemas, and data operations using SQL.
Build, integrate, and secure RESTful and SOAP web services utilizing XML and JSON data formats.
Administer and manage source code repositories and version control workflows using SVN and Git.
Utilize engineering and defect tracking tools including Bugzilla, Eclipse, Jenkins, and GitLab for CI/CD automation.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional retail business analysts, QA testers, and client stakeholders in St. Louis and Charlotte.
Ensure strict adherence to retail payment security standards, PCI-DSS compliance, and enterprise software engineering best practices.
Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, POS configuration runbooks, and API integration specifications.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
8 to 10 years of total professional software engineering and IT delivery experience.
Minimum 8 years of specialized hands‑on experience in Oracle Retail POS, Oracle Xstore POS, or GK POS L3 support.
Deep technical mastery and hands‑on professional experience with Java, Spring Boot, and foundational Spring frameworks.
Extensive practical proficiency in SQL query tuning, database design, and data manipulation.
Proven experience developing and integrating XML, JSON, REST, and SOAP APIs in enterprise environments.
Hands‑on familiarity with version control systems (SVN, Git) and development toolchains (Bugzilla, Eclipse, Jenkins, GitLab).
Exceptional analytical, troubleshooting, problem‑solving, and cross‑functional communication capabilities.
Professional availability for long‑term contract employment in St. Louis, MO / Charlotte, NC (Hybrid model).
Nice-to-Have Skills
Professional certifications such as Oracle Certified Xstore Implementation Specialist or Java Developer credentials.
Prior working experience in retail omnichannel transformation, payment gateway integrations, and pinpad device configuration.
Hands‑on familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud deployment platforms (AWS, Azure).
Strong background in Agile scrum methodologies, continuous integration, and automated testing frameworks.
