Job description
Payroll Processing SpecialistEnd-to-end payroll processing of multi-state payrolls on a weekly basis. This role requires in-depth payroll processing experience, a strong understanding of payroll tax regulations, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and committed to confidentiality and compliance.Key Responsibilities:Process full-cycle, multi-state payroll for hourly and salaried employees across multiple locationsMaintain and update employee payroll records including new hires, terminations, salary changes, and benefit deductionsEnsure payroll transactions are processed accurately and in compliance with federal, state, and local regulationsReview, validate and import time & attendance system informationRespond to employee inquiries related to pay, deductions, and time reportingSupport internal and external audits by providing payroll reports and documentationPartner with HR, Finance, and IT to resolve payroll discrepanciesUpdate employee payroll records by reviewing and entering changesRespond to employee/management inquiries and requests regarding payroll mattersProcess employee transfers between multiple payroll companiesUnderstand computed wages and taxes to ensure the accuracy of earningsComplete special projects and or other assigned tasks on an as needed basisAbility to prioritize workload efficiently and meet deadlinesMonitor employee leave situations to accurately pay employeesProcess manual paymentsMaintain strict confidentialityQualifications:5+ years of payroll processing experience, preferably in a staffing agency environmentStrong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulationsExperience processing payroll for multiple states and locationsProficiency in payroll systems (e.g., ADP Vantage or similar platforms)Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, etc.)High level of accuracy, discretion, and attention to detailStrong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independentlyADP Vantage experience preferredCertified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is a plusWhat We Offer:Competitive salary and comprehensive benefitsA collaborative, supportive work environmentOpportunities for advancement in a growing organization
