Physical Therapy AssistantAs a Physical Therapy Assistant, your ability to work collaboratively, diligently, and creatively will play an imperative role in your patients' rehabilitation success through compassion and patient-focused care.STATUS: Per diem LOCATION: St. Lawrence Hospital DEPARTMENT: Physical Rehabilitation SCHEDULE: Varies, Days, 8hr. shift between 7 am & 5 pmPOSITION SUMMARY Provides physical therapy treatments under the supervision of a physical therapist. Documents treatments as per department standards. Monitors response to treatment. Participates in multidisciplinary activities. Participates in continuing education programs within as well as outside the hospital. Provides supervision to students during their affiliation. Participates in quality improvement programs and projects.RESPONSIBILITIESTeam. Assist in the implementation of new programs and procedures; assist in mentoring and training new team members; Contribute creative ideas to add to treatment programsTreatment. Implement physical therapy treatments as planned and directed by a physical therapist; provide home instruction and assistive equipment if necessaryPatient Care. Provide a safe environment and Physical Therapy techniques for patients; Inspire confidence from patients, families, and staff by performing and communicating in a highly professional mannerREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:• Two-year college degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant.•3 months of experience derived through educational field work•Excellent communication skills•New York State License requiredRochester General Health System is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action Employer. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components.
