JOB OVERVIEW Job Id: Profession: Physician Specialty: General Surgery Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: New Port Richey, FL Service Setting: Inpatient Coverage Type: Clinical + Call Coverage Period: ASAP Ongoing Shift Schedule: 8:00am 4:00pm 7 days/month Call Schedule: Nights & Weekends Call Type: Beeper Call Response Time: 4 hrs Reason for Coverage: Supplemental Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered by Agency PATIENT INFORMATION Average Daily Volume: Varies Rounding: Yes FACILITY INFORMATION EMR System: Cerner Support Staff: RNs PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Temporary Privileges Available: Yes REQUIRED PROCEDURES Required: General Surgery Laparoscopic Surgery Head/neck surgery (including thyroid) Chest wall/pleural procedures Breast surgery Obstetric & gynecologic surgery Liver surgery GI endoscopy Minor Orthopedics Hand Surgery Ventilation management Chest tube & Central line insertion PA Catheter placement Laser certification Vascular Surgery Plastic Surgery JOB REQUIREMENTS Board: Board Certified Licenses: Licensed in FL or IMLC Certifications: BLS, ACLS, ATLS, PALS, ABLS Fellowship: Required Duties & Responsibilities Provide general surgery call coverage for up to 7 days per month. Perform scheduled clinical duties from 8:00am to 4:00pm. Take beeper call from home for after-hours and weekend coverage. Manage a variety of surgical cases including trauma, laparoscopic, and other general surgery procedures. Ensure timely response to stat and routine calls as per protocol.
