Locum Vascular Surgeon - Portsmouth, VA Inpatient Hospital-Based Role Looking for a flexible locum opportunity with a leading facility in Portsmouth, VA? Quick Facts Location: Portsmouth, VA Start Date: 09/20/2026 Duration: Ongoing, with coverage needs including holidays, vacations, weekends, and week coverage Shift: Mon-Sun, 24-Hour Call; Mon-Fri 8:30 am-4:30 pm; Night and Weekend Call (Fri-Mon 4:30 pm-8:30 am) Hours/Week: Varies based on coverage needs Employment Type: Contract/Locum License/Certifications: Virginia medical license, BLS/ACLS/PALS as needed Experience: Inpatient vascular surgery, dialysis access, local procedures Pay & Benefits Pay Rate: Competitive hourly pay; specific rate discussed upon application Benefits: Weekly pay via direct deposit Medical benefits (W-2) Paid sick time in accordance with state and federal laws Travel and licensure reimbursements (where applicable) Comprehensive support from dedicated clinical team Robust referral bonus program What You ll Do Provide inpatient vascular surgical care at a large hospital setting Perform routine vascular procedures including dialysis access and localizations Manage adult and geriatric patient populations Offer coverage during holidays, vacations, and weekends as needed Collaborate with hospital staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes Maintain accurate documentation in Epic EMR system Respond to call-ins via beeper/phone, averaging about 3 hours per call back What You Need Valid Virginia medical license or willingness to obtain Board Certified or Board Eligible in Vascular Surgery At least 2 years of experience in vascular procedures Proficiency with inpatient care and vascular procedures Ability to manage adult and elderly patient populations Strong communication skills and teamwork mindset Preferred: Prior coverage experience in hospital inpatient settings Experience with Epic EMR About the Assignment Join a leading medical center in Portsmouth, VA, providing vital inpatient vascular care.
