Primary Care Medical AssistantUnder the direction of the primary care operations team, the Primary Care Patient Care MA works directly with Mercy Primary Care Providers to provide safe, timely, effective, efficient, equitable, patient-centered care in a systematic way. The Primary Care Patient Care MA will partner with patients, providers, and other members of the clinical care team to drive quality outcomes for all patients. Your responsibilities include:Preparing patients for provider visits using the Advanced Standard Rooming Process:Documenting chief complaintsTaking vitals, reviewing history and allergiesCompleting medication reconciliationAddressing care gaps (e.g., screenings, diabetic eye exams)Rechecking elevated blood pressuresDocumenting preventive visit details in EpicPerforming in-office testing:Blood drawsMental status examsEKGsOxygen studiesPoint-of-care testingAdministering vaccines and injections within scopeScheduling follow-up appointments per office policyCollaborating with providers and clinical teams to support care plansQualificationsPrimary Care Assistant – MAEducation: High School Diploma or GEDCertification: BLS required within 90 days of hirePreferred Experience: 6+ months in clinical healthcare, ideally in primary carePrimary Care – Certified MAEducation: High School Diploma or GEDCertification: Active MA certification/registration (RMA, CCMA, CMA)BLS: Required within 90 days of hireLPN OptionEducation: Diploma in Practical NursingLicensure: Active LPN licensePreferred Experience: 6+ months in clinical healthcare, preferably primary careWhy Mercy?From day one, Mercy offers outstanding benefits - including medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, tuition support, and matched retirement plans for team members working 32+ hours per pay period.Join a caring, collaborative team where your voice matters.
