Job description

Responsibilities

This position is for an electrical engineer to work in the Hardware/Firmware Engineering Department at the Electronic Warfare Systems of Raytheon.

Be responsible for requirements analysis and decomposition, sub‑system design, modeling, simulation, and design verification test.

Work on new product development based on descriptions and specifications provided by our customers.

Work in integrated product teams to design, develop, and manufacture complex state‑of‑the‑art systems for airborne, naval, and land‑based military applications.

Activities include detailed digital design, embedded systems, and FPGA development.

Specific tasks include circuit analysis, circuit simulation, FPGA programming, design documentation, design verification and testing, and integration of hardware and software at the level of electronic components and circuit boards.

Required Qualifications

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.

Experience in one or more of the following areas:

Digital Signal Processing.

Intel/Altera and/or AMD/Xilinx FPGAs.

Designing in Matlab/Simulink with DSP Builder and HDL Coder blocksets.

Digital hardware design and firmware integration.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with AMD/Xilinx, Intel/Altera, or Microsemi FPGAs.

Experience with High Level Modeling tools and languages such as SystemVerilog or HDL Coder.

Experience in embedded electronics, VHDL, Verilog, System Verilog, schematic capture, signal processing, RF, FPGA.

The salary range for this role is 118,300 USD - 224,900 USD.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

Location and Work Arrangement

Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products. This position requires onsite work in Goleta, CA: Welcome to Raytheon in Goleta, CA.
