Machine OperatorPrysmian is the world leader in the energy and telecom cable systems industry. As a Machine Operator, you will work on a team of 6–7 operators and a team coordinator, supported by a control room operator. Your team will produce compounds used in cable manufacturing across Prysmian plants.Pay: $22.70 - $27.23/hr.Key ResponsibilitiesComplete routine production activities to keep production flowingReport process changes and system issuesPerform cleanouts following appropriate proceduresEnsure materials, systems, and tooling are ready for upcoming runsPerform and support daily cleaning and housekeeping activities, which are essential to maintaining safety, product quality, and efficient operationsCooperate with team members to maintain housekeeping and organization standardsPerform quality testing and make corrections as neededIdentify and communicate safety hazardsUpdate systems throughout the production processWhat to Expect in This RoleThis position involves working in a physically demanding, industrial manufacturing environment. Candidates should clearly understand the day-to-day conditions before applying.In this role, you will:Be on your feet for 12-hour shifts, with extended periods of walking and standing on concrete floorsFrequently climb stairs and move throughout a multi-level facility during your shiftRegularly lift and handle materials up to 50–55 poundsWork in a hot, non-climate-controlled environment, where temperatures can exceed 90°F at timesBe exposed to dust, dirt, noise, and industrial machineryPerform repetitive physical tasks, including bending, stooping, and reachingPerform regular cleaning and housekeeping tasks, which are critical to maintaining safety, product quality, and efficient operationsBe required to wear PPE and follow strict safety protocols at all timesKey Job Demands12-hour shiftsFrequent stair climbing throughout a multi-level facilityHeavy lifting (50–55 lbs)Hot, non-climate-controlled industrial environmentContinuous physical activity throughout the entire shiftRoutine cleaning and housekeeping responsibilities as a critical part of the roleImportant: This role is best suited for individuals who are comfortable working in physically demanding, fast-paced manufacturing environments and can maintain performance throughout the entire shift.ShiftsTraining is completed on a 12-hour shift scheduleAfter training, employees continue working 12-hour shifts on a 2-2-3 schedule:Week 1: Work Mon/Tue, off Wed/Thu, work Fri/Sat/SunWeek 2: Off Mon/Tue, work Wed/Thu, off Fri/Sat/SunNote: Training occurs directly on the production floor and follows the same schedule and physical expectations as the role.Who Are We Looking For?QualificationsBasic reading, writing, arithmetic, and computer skillsAbility to communicate and work effectively in a team environmentAbility to regularly lift 50–55 pounds and frequently navigate a multi-level facility, including stairsAbility to safely operate and learn equipment, including forkliftsPreferred QualificationsExperience in manufacturing, production, warehouse, or similar industrial environmentsDemonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environmentHigh School Diploma, GED, or equivalentWorking ConditionsThis role involves exposure to industrial manufacturing conditions, including:High noise levels requiring hearing protectionHeavy machinery and moving equipmentDust, raw materials, and industrial chemicalsPotential risks such as cuts, burns, or contact with hot equipment
