Shift SupervisorDWK Life Sciences LLC (DWK) was created as a result of the merger of three industry leaders and provides the world's laboratories and production environments with the most comprehensive range of labware for scientific research and technical applications as well as solutions for storage and packaging. We manufacture a full range of precision glassware and specialty products for life sciences. We also offer products and services (vials, ampules, stoppers, septa, seals, caps, bottles, tubes, flasks, and value added services) to customers seeking packaging solutions.Company revenue is generated through four primary channels: Global distributors, National distributors, Direct field selling efforts, and Inside sales selling efforts.DWK supports four primary market segments: Laboratory, Pharmaceutical, Analytical Sciences, and Industrial glass.The Shift Supervisor oversees all plant operations during the assigned shift, ensuring production goals are met safely, efficiently, and in compliance with quality standards. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role directs and coordinates the workforce, assigns daily tasks, monitors material usage, and resolves operational or personnel issues as they arise. The Supervisor also ensures adherence to safety and environmental guidelines, maintains effective communication with management, and supports employee development through training and performance feedback, fostering a productive and high-performing team environment.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Oversee all production activities that are scheduled to be run during the off-shifts.Oversee the accuracy of raw materials used to produce the jobsEnsures production quotas are met.Under the Operations Manager's direction will assign daily work order instructions to the production staffDirects and coordinates any preventive maintenance if need be.Direct all employee assignments.Oversees any scheduled job set upsIdentify employee training needs and communicate to Dept. Production ManagersIdentify employee behavioral or conduct issues and if need be initiated the appropriate discipline.Work with the Quality Inspector in resolving all quality issues. If unable to resolve the problem, then the issue needs to be addressed with the appropriate quality manager.Wear personal protective equipment in accordance with safety and training guidelinesRequired to wear proper gowning for specific areasCommunicates daily with the Operations Manager and Production Managers on activities, issues etc.Maintain good housekeeping and EHS requirementsPerform other related duties as assignedEducation and/or Experience:High School diploma or GED equivalent3-5 years' experience as a supervisor preferredOral and Written Communication SkillsNegotiations, reading skills and being able to read a drawingComputer skillsTime ManagementWork Environment / Conditions / Physical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this jobWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, stand, sit, use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, bend, talk and hearThe employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
