Permanent

Full - Time

What You Can Expect

As a Project Developer, you'll play a key role in advancing ENGIE's utility-scale wind, solar, and battery energy storage projects across the United States and Canada. You will support and manage projects through all phases of development, including site feasibility, land and permitting strategy, stakeholder and community engagement, environmental review, investment committee approvals, and preparation for construction. Working cross-functionally, you will help ensure projects advance efficiently while meeting technical, commercial, regulatory, and sustainability objectives.

You'll collaborate closely with land, interconnection, engineering, pre-construction, project delivery, and commercial teams to identify opportunities, mitigate risk, and advance projects that support ENGIE's growth strategy and the transition to a zero-carbon future. This role offers the opportunity to engage with communities, public agencies, industry leaders, and internal decision-makers while helping shape the next generation of renewable energy infrastructure. Based on the existing ENGIE Project Developer materials and templates

What You'll Do

Lead the development of utility-scale wind, solar, and energy storage projects from feasibility through the start of construction

Direct project development activities including permitting, environmental reviews, interconnection, land acquisition, and design in partnership with internal subject matter experts and external consultants

Manage permit applications, regulatory filings, and agency interactions while supporting public hearings and stakeholder engagement efforts

Build and maintain relationships with landowners, community stakeholders, public officials, regulatory agencies, and key project partners

Evaluate project risks, opportunities, and development strategies to support successful project advancement and investment decisions

Support project financing, energy offtake, due diligence, and M&A activities, including financial review, underwriting assumptions, and investment committee materials

Maintain development schedules, project tracking tools, and reporting to ensure progress against critical milestones

Monitor industry trends, policy developments, and market conditions while representing ENGIE at industry events and renewable energy forums

What You'll Bring

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Business, Finance, Economics, Energy, Planning, or a related field

Minimum of five (5) years of experience in renewable energy, utility, infrastructure, environmental, large-scale project development, or oil and gas project management

Experience advancing projects through permitting, regulatory review, stakeholder engagement, and key development milestones

Proven project management skills with the ability to prioritize competing priorities, manage project risks, and drive multiple workstreams simultaneously

Demonstrated ability to build and maintain productive relationships with landowners, community stakeholders, regulatory agencies, consultants, public officials, and cross-functional teams

Demonstrated ability to evaluate project risks, opportunities, and commercial considerations to support development decisions

Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across technical and non-technical audiences

Self-motivated and collaborative professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and works effectively across geographically dispersed teams

Experience supporting utility-scale wind, solar, battery energy storage, transmission, or other large-scale energy or infrastructure projects is preferred
