nNew Grads and experienced Respiratory Therapist are welcome to apply.
nNew hires will receive a $10,000 sign-on bonus with their first paycheck and relocation assistance is available to those who qualify.
nA respiratory therapist provides assessment, treatment, and monitoring of cardiopulmonary disease across the continuum of care. A respiratory therapist functions as part of an interdisciplinary team that coordinates and provides continuity of care in a financially responsible manner. A respiratory therapist is able to quickly and accurately assess a patient's condition and communicates effectively to the care team concerning changes in patient's condition, results of diagnostic studies, symptomatology, and response to treatment.
nThis vacancy is not eligible for sponsorship/ we will not sponsor or transfer visas for this position. Also, Mayo Clinic DOES NOT participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program.
nQualifications
nThe Respiratory Therapist job requires graduation from an accredited school of Respiratory Therapy and basic computer literacy. Good verbal and written communication skills required.
nAdditional Qualifications:
nnnFunction with initiative and independent judgment, Desire for continuous quality improvement.
n
nnBachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy or healthcare related field is preferred.
n
nnPrevious hospital experience preferred.
n
nnAdditional NBRC specialty credentials preferred.
n
n nLicense/Certification:
nnnAll respiratory therapists will hold the National Board for Respiratory Care entry level certification (CRT) prior to their first day of Mayo employment.
n
nnAll graduate respiratory therapists must possess valid permission (permanent or temporary permit) to practice with the licensing board in the state of hire prior to their first day of Mayo employment.
n
nnThe Registered Respiratory Therapist credential is required upon hire or by the end of one year of employment and must be maintained throughout employment.
n
nnBasic Life Support certification is required upon hire or within 90 days from date of hire.
n
nnAdvanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or equivalent determined by site is required upon hire or within 6 months from date of hire.
n
nnNeonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) where applicable.
n
nnAdditional life support certifications may be required by site of hire.
n
nnAll required certifications must be maintained throughout employment.
