Job description
Step into a rewarding role supporting student growth and development as an Occupational Therapist in a thriving educational environment near Wyandotte, MI. This full-time contract position runs throughout the 26-27 school year, offering the chance to work closely with students and educators to deliver impactful occupational therapy services right where they're needed most.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the state of Michigan
Experience delivering OT services to children or adolescents, preferably in school settings
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with teachers, families, and administrators
Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans
Passion for student advocacy and promoting independence
Flexibility and adaptability in dynamic school environments
Key Responsibilities: Conduct thorough assessments and develop targeted treatment plans for students with diverse needs
Provide direct school-based OT interventions, both one-on-one and in group settings
Collaborate with teachers and other educational professionals to integrate therapeutic strategies into classroom routines
Attend and contribute to IEP meetings and other team discussions regarding student progress
Maintain all required documentation, including progress reports and data tracking
Educate school staff and families on adaptive techniques and assistive devices to enhance student access to the curriculum
