Campus Security OfficerCairn University invites qualified candidates to apply for the position of Security Officer within the Office of Safety and Security (OSS). This position is scheduled to work 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The ideal candidate will be flexible and available to work additional shifts or hours as needed to provide coverage for other security staff. Security Officers are also expected to support major University events, including Homecoming Weekend and Commencement ceremonies.All employees at Cairn University sign the University's Foundational Statements annually as an affirmation of their commitment to support the University's mission, positions, and values. Employees are expected to carry out their roles and responsibilities in alignment with these statements in all professional interactions with students, colleagues, and the broader University community.Position Responsibilities Under regular supervision and in accordance with established training, policies, and procedures, the Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure campus environment by protecting life and property and enforcing University policies and regulations. Primary responsibilities include:Conducting routine patrols of campus, primarily on foot and occasionally by patrol vehicle, following appropriate training and departmental procedures.Responding to incidents and concerns in a professional and timely manner.Enforcing University safety and security measures while exercising sound judgment and discretion.Providing courteous, helpful, and professional customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors.Supporting the University's commitment to maintaining a safe, welcoming, and secure community for all members of campus.Required:Uphold laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.If offered the position, successfully complete the PA and FBI Criminal background and Child Abuse History clearances.Driver's License with clean driving record and licensed to drive for at least 2 years.Preferred:Prior security experience.Current PA ACT 235 certification.Serving at Cairn University Located in Langhorne, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, Cairn University exists to educate students to serve Christ in the church, society, and the world as biblically minded, well-educated and professionally competent men and women of character. Students earn bachelor's degrees in various areas including Bible, Education, Music, and Business Administration; and graduate degrees in Business, Divinity, Education, Organizational Leadership, Worship and Music, and Counseling. Cairn is a conservative evangelical institution within the protestant tradition that employs faculty and staff who profess Jesus Christ as personal Savior; agree to Cairn's Foundational Statements; and serve students in a ministerial capacity through imparting and upholding biblical instruction, prayer, and mentoring. Members of the faculty are required to integrate biblical instruction in their respective professional subject areas. All members of the Cairn community are obligated to affirm, agree with, and align with the University Foundational Statements.
