Security OfficerFairview is hiring a Security Officer at our Fairview Northland location in Princeton, MN. In this role, you'll be the calm, confident presence that helps patients, visitors, and staff feel safe from the moment they walk through the doors. You'll patrol the hospital, respond to calls for service, assist with difficult or high-risk situations, and proactively prevent theft or vandalism—while delivering strong customer service every step of the way.This is a 0.6 FTE evening/night-shift position (48 hours per pay period) with every other weekend rotation. Starting pay is $25.88 per hour and increases with experience, plus shift differentials and a comprehensive benefits package that includes tuition reimbursement, a 403(b), and annual merit increases. If you bring security, law enforcement, or military experience—and thrive in fast-paced environments that require teamwork, sound judgment, and professionalism—this is a meaningful opportunity to make an impact every day.Schedule:Week 1 Mon Tue Wed Week 2 Sat Sun ResponsibilitiesPatrols designated areas according to established procedures and documents patrols in daily shift reports.Documents daily activities in report writing system.Provides assistance to patients, visitors and staff.Responds to calls for services.Assists in the control (often physical) of potentially violent individuals which requires strength, stamina, flexibility and critical thinking.Works with potentially unpredictable individuals requiring that teamwork and communication with other security officers.Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures and standards.Actively participates in creating and implementing improvements.Required QualificationsExperience/EducationOne of the following is required for hire:2 years of security, military, or law enforcement experienceAssociate's degree in a related field and 1 year of security, military or law enforcement experienceBachelor's degree in a related fieldLicensureDrivers License Valid Class D Driver's License and DMV record which meets Fairview Insurability requirements for assignments that require the operation of a motor vehicleOrganizational ExpectationsPass pre-assignment training within probationary period.Preferred Qualifications2 years Hospital Security ExperienceCertified Peace Officer (POST)Emergency Med Tech Basic (EMT-B)Benefit OverviewFairview offers a generous benefit package including but not limited to medical, dental, vision plans, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability insurance, PTO and Sick and Safe Time, tuition reimbursement, retirement, early access to earned wages, and more!
