Job description
Security OfficerThe Menominee Casino Resort Security Department is responsible for protecting the assets, guests, employees and vendors of the Menominee Casino Resort.Essential duties and responsibilities include:Reporting violations to the Security SupervisorSubmitting written reports for emergencies and criminal activityProviding escorts and observing guests and employees for safetyCreating a safe environment for guests and employeesDispatching security and emergency personnel during emergenciesInforming guests of monthly promotionsEnsuring safe escort of company moniesInteracting respectfully with guests and employeesMaintaining guest service standardsAttending pre-shift and departmental meetingsAccepting identification from individuals under the legal ageMaintaining attendance recordsTransporting new hire gaming employees to the Gaming CommissionTransporting Slot or Vault department employees to the Thunderbird ComplexMaintaining cleanliness and reporting the condition of company vehiclesConducting safety checks on company vehiclesCommunicating with all departments and security employeesMaintaining activity logs in Security ControlActing as a telephone switchboard operatorLogging incoming phone callsPaging on call employees and logging requestsMultitasking, dispatching, logging data, maintaining records, issuing equipment and operating a computerQualification requirements include:Good organizational, writing and reading skillsUnderstanding and working knowledge with computers and typing skillsExcellent communication skillsHigh School Diploma or equivalencyEighteen (18) years of age or olderAbility to obtain and maintain a valid gaming licenseSuccessful completion of CPR/First Aid and Automated External Defibrillator TrainingSpecial consideration for post High School education in security, law enforcement, criminal justice or related fieldsCriminal background minimum requirements include:No convictions for sex offenses, felonies, gambling, theft, fraud, misrepresentation, or crimes of violence, domestic violence, or drug offensesMeeting minimum criminal background requirements for a gaming licenseLanguage skills include:Ability to read and comprehend safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manualsAbility to write routine reports and correspondenceMathematical skills include:Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measurementReasoning ability includes:Ability to apply common sense reasoning and understanding to carry out instructionsPhysical demands include:Ability to talk, hear, stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, lift and move up to seventy poundsSpecific vision abilities include:Close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustmentAbility to patrol in various weather conditionsWork environment includes:Exposure to outside weather conditions and moderate to loud noise levels
