Senior Internal Controls Analyst

n nZurich is currently looking for a Senior Internal Controls Analyst to work out of our North American Headquarters in Schaumburg, Illinois.

nPrimary responsibilities include supporting management to ensure internal controls are in place and operating effectively in accordance with the Group Internal Control Integrated Framework (ICIF), with the main area of focus being financial controls. Work with an experienced team to bring innovative solutions to management to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the control environment. Support manager and senior internal control analysts to understand the root cause of errors identified and help develop remediation plans.

nSome of the key accountabilities for this role:

nnnAbility to analyze processes to identify risks and control weaknesses

n

nnAbility to design and implement appropriate controls to strengthen the control environment and mitigate company risks

n

nnRecognize the impact of major external or internal changes to the control environment

n

nnBring a systematic and disciplined approach to maintain the control environment

n

nnAbility to document processes from start to finish through the collaboration with subject matter experts

n

nnAbility to design and execute the testing of internal controls and facilitate the related remediation for any control deficiencies identified

n

nnAbility to promote and educate control owners on the importance of internal controls

n

nnSupport the business and Internal Controls team in automating controls and testing where appropriate

n

n nBasic Qualifications:

nnnBachelors Degree and 4 or more years of experience in the Accounting or Finance areaOR

n

nnHigh School Diploma or Equivalent and 6 or more years of experience in the Accounting or Finance areaOR

n

nnZurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 4 or more years of experience in the Accounting or Finance areaAND

n

nnKnowledge of accounting principles

n

nnGeneral ledger or transactional experience

n

nnExperience with financial reporting systems, business objects and financial query tools

n

n nPreferred Qualifications (Sr Internal Controls Analyst):

nnnInsurance industry experience

n

nn1 or more years' experience related to internal / external audit

n

nnKnowledge of accounting principles

n

nnIntermediate level Microsoft Office Suite and Visio experience

n

The proposed Salary range for this position is $72,500.00 - $118,700.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 10%.
