Position Summary

Unison Software is seeking a Senior Consultant to serve as the senior functional authority on federal acquisition engagements using Unison's acquisition, grants management, and contract lifecycle solutions.

This is a hands‑on senior consulting role. Senior Consultants own the functional solution on their engagements, set and enforce functional and configuration standards, serve as the escalation point for the most complex business process and system behavior questions, and provide direction, review, and mentorship to other Consultants. The role advises senior government stakeholders on acquisition process improvement, system adoption, and operational efficiency across both implementation and operations and maintenance (O&M) engagements.

Engagement assignment, solution complexity, and team size scale with experience level and are defined in the specific job posting.

Key Responsibilities

Own the functional solution on assigned engagements, including business process design, configuration approach, and alignment of system capabilities to mission objectives

Establish and enforce functional standards for configuration, requirements documentation, testing, and client‑facing deliverables

Provide functional direction to other Consultants, including task assignment, guidance, and review of their work products

Review configuration decisions, requirements, test cases, and client deliverables for quality, accuracy, and consistency

Serve as the functional escalation point for complex business process, configuration, and system behavior issues

Mentor and develop Consultants, building depth on the team through knowledge transfer, pairing, and structured feedback

Lead requirements gathering, business process analysis, configuration validation, testing, and user acceptance activities on the most complex workstreams

Serve as a trusted advisor to senior government stakeholders on acquisition process improvement, system adoption, and operational efficiency

Lead the deployment and adoption of new capabilities and enhancements, including training, change management, and post‑deployment support

Partner with Technical Consultants, Project Managers, and Program Managers on solution decisions, delivery sequencing, and cross‑workstream dependencies

Provide functional input into estimates, level of effort, staffing plans, and proposal and capture activities for new and follow‑on work

Assess functional, data, and adoption risk across the engagement, and communicate it clearly to project and program leadership

Qualifications

Preferred Experience

Professional consulting or functional support experience with enterprise software applications, with depth of experience commensurate with the level of the position

Experience owning functional solution design and configuration decisions across an engagement

Experience providing functional direction, work product review, and mentorship to other consultants

Experience conducting business process analysis and translating business requirements into functional solutions

Experience supporting software implementations or operations and maintenance (O&M) environments

Experience advising senior government stakeholders in a client‑facing consulting role

Hands‑on experience with Unison's PRISM acquisition platform, or with comparable federal acquisition, procurement, or grants management systems, is strongly preferred

Federal Acquisition Domain Knowledge

Familiarity with one or more of the following is preferred:

Federal acquisition and procurement lifecycle, from requirements and market research through award, administration, and closeout

Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), agency supplements, and related acquisition policy

Federal acquisition, contract writing, contract lifecycle management, or grants management systems, including commercial off‑the‑shelf (COTS) implementations

Working with contracting offices, 1102 contract specialists, program offices, and financial management organizations

Federal financial systems, funding structures, and appropriations concepts

Organizational change management and user adoption in federal environments

Core Skills and Abilities

Exceptional client relationship management and consulting skills at senior government levels

Outstanding written, verbal, and presentation communication, including facilitating working sessions with senior government leadership

Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities

Sound judgment in balancing client requests against scope, contract terms, and delivery capacity

Ability to balance day‑to‑day operational support with longer‑term process improvement initiatives

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and related Microsoft 365 applications

Education

Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) in Business, Public Administration, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
