Job description
A community-based behavioral health organization is seeking a Master Social Worker in Queens, NY to provide field-based crisis intervention and support services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. This role focuses on in-home assessments, crisis counseling, case management, and coordinated community support.
About the Opportunity:
Shift: Day shift
Schedule: Monday-Friday
Hours: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Setting: Field-based
Responsibilities: Conduct in-person intakes and home visits throughout the assigned area
Assess service needs and provide crisis intervention support
Deliver case management, behavioral support, and crisis counseling services
Facilitate in-person parent support groups
Collaborate with families, providers, and community agencies to support care planning and resource connections
Qualifications: Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW)
Bilingual (English and Spanish)
Previous experience in a Social Work role/setting
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently in the field
Desired Skills: Experience with the IDD population
Crisis intervention experience
Case management experience
Community-based social work experience
Interest in obtaining LMSW licensure
