Job description
Make an impact by bringing your expertise in special education to a vibrant school community near Ellicott City, MD! This is an exciting contract opportunity for someone passionate about supporting students with diverse learning needs and helping them achieve academic and personal growth.
You will work collaboratively with other educators, families, and support staff to tailor instructional strategies, create individualized education programs (IEPs), and implement classroom modifications to empower each student. Your dedication will help foster an inclusive, supportive, and positive learning environment.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience:
State certification/licensure as a Special Education Teacher
Bachelor's or master's degree in Special Education or related field
Previous experience in a school setting, especially with IEP development and implementation
Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational abilities
Ability to adapt instruction to meet the varying needs of students
Key Responsibilities: Design and deliver engaging lessons to students with special needs
Develop, update, and execute individualized education programs (IEPs)
Assess, track, and document student progress toward academic and behavioral goals
Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and families
Foster a nurturing, inclusive classroom environment that promotes growth and independence
Participate in team meetings and professional development
