Job description
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity working with K-8 students in a vibrant, supportive educational setting near Warren, MI. We are seeking two dedicated Special Education Teachers to provide high-quality instructional support and case management for small caseloads (10 students each). Your expertise will make a meaningful impact on students' academic and social development, collaborating with a committed team of educators and specialists.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's strengths and needs
Provide direct instructional support in various settings, from small groups to inclusive classrooms
Participate in and facilitate IEP meetings, working collaboratively with families and fellow staff members
Track and document student progress, making data-driven adjustments to learning plans
Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment
Communicate regularly with parents, caregivers, and team members regarding student progress and goals
Stay current on best practices, legal requirements, and resources in special education
Qualifications: Valid Special Education Teacher certification (MI or eligible for reciprocity)
Experience working with K-8 students and diverse learning needs
Strong knowledge of the IEP process, progress monitoring, and compliance
Exceptional communication and collaboration abilities
Ability to adapt instructional methods and materials to meet varied student needs
Positive, patient, and proactive mindset
