Position Title: Speech and Language Pathologist/Speech and Language Pathologist Assistant )

Match Charter Public School ( is a free, high-performing charter public school in Boston. We are a PreK-12 school serving up to 1,250 students. Our mission is to prepare studentsparticularly multilingual learners and those who would be the first in their families to earn a college degreefor success in college and careers in order to achieve economic security and mobility. Students gain acceptance to our schools via an annual blind public lottery open to all Boston residents.

Position : Speech & Language Pathologist/Speech & Language Pathology Assistant

Location : Boston, MA (Jamaica Plain and Brighton Campuses)

OVERVIEW OF ROLE

Match has an immediate opening for a full-time Speech & Language Pathologist (SLP) or Speech & Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join the middle school and high school Special Education Team. The SLP will work at Matchs middle school campus on 215 Forest Hills St. in Jamaica Plain and at Matchs high school campus on 1001 Commonwealth Ave. in Brighton. The SLP/SLPA will collaborate deeply with other Special Education staff, teachers, and families, to ensure that students with speech and language disorders are identified and provided the highest quality speech and language therapy. The students range in needs, but the work has a focus on receptive, expressive and social language, word relationships, nuances, and improving oral communication. The SLP/SLPA will report to the Middle School Director of Special Education.

The annual salary for Match SLP positions ranges from $67,812-$104,899 and is based on a candidates prior SLP experience. The annual salary for an SLPA position starts at $52,499 and can be higher based on prior relevant experience. Match offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes 90% coverage of health insurance costs and up to $150/month in student loan repayment assistance.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The SLP/SLPA has a number of essential responsibilities, including (but not limited to):

* Provide small group and individual therapy sessions to Match students;

* Support the schools Special Education programming including, but not limited to: completion of necessary reports and filings, management of parent and student communication, administration of student testing/screening, and upholding of applicable Department of Elementary and Secondary Education compliance requirements.

* Uphold high academic and behavioral expectations for students, and provide lots of support for getting students there;

* Participate actively in Matchs coaching and professional development programming;

* Assist with school programming as needed during non-instructional time; and

* Serve as a positive and collaborative member of the Match Charter Public School community

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for SLP/SLPA applicants who:

* have at least two years of full-time experience as an SLP/SLPA, preferably in an urban education setting;

* hold a valid and appropriate license issued by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education;

* believe that all students can and will succeed; and

* desire to continually improve their practice as an educator by taking and implementing feedback; have a proven record of student success and achievement;
