Sub Arc Pipe Welder (Industrial / Pressure Piping)Pay: $20–$30 per hour (DOE) Schedule: Full-time Start of Interviews: January 6 Location: Corpus Christi / Local AreaPosition SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Submerged Arc Pipe Welder for an industrial piping project. Work will involve precision welding of carbon steel pipe to industry standard specifications. Candidates must demonstrate expertise with the SAW process, maintain quality welds, and be able to pass required weld testing and inspection.Weld Test and Inspection Requirement (Mandatory)To qualify for employment, candidates must pass a weld test for carbon steel pipe using the Submerged Arc Welding (SAW) process. Welds will be subject to visual and nondestructive inspection (such as X-ray or UT) consistent with industrial quality standards, with failure to pass resulting in disqualification. Typical test elements may include: Pipe welding using SAW process Carbon steel pipe to specification Adherence to applicable welding procedure and code standards Inspection to client quality and nondestructive testing requirements Successful candidates will demonstrate precise control of SAW equipment, consistent weld bead quality, and compliance with inspection criteria.Required Skills & QualificationsProven experience operating Sub Arc welding equipment in an industrial pipe environmentAbility to interpret Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), blueprints, and weld symbolsStrong understanding of industrial code welding practices and nondestructive inspection (e.g., X-ray/UT)Ability to set up, operate, monitor, and adjust SAW parametersEffective verbal communication and adherence to safety standardsReliable transportation and strong attendanceResponsibilitiesPerform Submerged Arc welding on carbon steel pipeEnsure pipe fit-up and preparation meet welding and inspection requirementsMonitor weld quality throughout the process and make necessary adjustmentsMaintain compliance with safety procedures and inspection protocolsKeep work area clean and organized; assist with equipment maintenance as neededPreferred ExperiencePressure piping or industrial fabrication experienceShop or field welding on turnaround or outage projectsPrior exposure to nondestructive test proceduresPre-Employment RequirementsDrug screen and background check (client/site required)How to ApplySubmit your most recent work history online.
