Job description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an ICU position requiring rotating day and night shifts and one year of nursing experience.
Requirements
Active RN license (NC or Compact) required
Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and CPI-B
Minimum one year of nursing experience required
Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN required from an accredited school of nursing
BSN or MSN preferred
Experience with point of care testing and care of patients with complex problems
Responsibilities
Work in a 16-bed adult ICU managing critical illness, ventilated patients, and post-operative cases
Patient ratio of 1:2 with average length of stay of 3-7 days
Rotating day and night shift schedule on a 6-week cycle (typically 3 weeks days, 3 weeks nights)
36 hours per week, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week
6 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule
May be scheduled on holidays if there is a need
Standby call required once per pay period
Deliver competent clinical nursing care in coordination with the Nurse Manager/Director
Participate in patient education, discharge planning, and multidisciplinary care coordination
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to evaluate and adjust patient care plans
