We are growing and are looking for driven and organized individuals who share the same pride and enthusiasm for the industry as we do.Purpose: The General Foreman manages and leads large electrical projects with multiple crews.Essential Duties:Manages a project crew of 40+ with sub foremanLeads pre-installation planning efforts, including work sequencing, layout strategy, constructability review and installation of electrical components based on specifications and codes coordination of Methods of Procedure (MOPs)Collaborates with BIM Specialist on project needsAssists with material procurement, including organizing and tracking purchase ordersDevelops project schedules and provides trade milestones to relevant staff; communicates with crew and project leadership to ensure coordination and satisfactory progressDevelops and maintains short-interval (look-ahead) plans to support overall project schedule and manpower levelingKeeps Project Manager informed of any project changes or delaysSupports change order identification and pricing by providing field input, quantities, and schedule impactsUnderstands labor budgets and productivity goals; monitors manpower efficiency and proactively communicates cost or schedule risks to the Project ManagerStudies and evaluates blueprints spec books, and tracks changes and as-builtsRepresents the electrical scope in coordination meetings with other trades and general contractor supervisionReviews and ensures project work's compliance with current NEC codes throughout project lifecycleCoordinates with subcontractors under Uihlein as neededImplements quality control practices in the field and coordinates with QA/QC teams to ensure labeling, testing, and turnover documentation meet contract requirementsMaintains accurate daily reports, manpower logs, progress tracking, and change documentation to support schedule, cost control, and claims avoidance.Leads by example in enforcing safety policies, conducts regular safety briefings, identifies and mitigates hazards, and holds crew leaders accountable for crew safety performance.Inspects electrical systems and equipment to identify hazards, defects, and repair needs while ensuring compliance with local codesAssists with project closeout processMentors and trains direct reports, evaluates and identifies future field leaders; identifies training needs and ensures crew upholds Company policies and holds them accountable for performanceCompletes required employee evaluations and provides timely feedbackPerforms other assigned duties as neededQualificationsQualifications/Requirements:Current Journeyman or Master Electrician with a Wisconsin licenseCurrent IBEW member, or willingness to become a Union member with Uihlein's support.5+ years of prior Foreman experienceData Center experience a plus but not requiredFire Alarm experience a plus but not requiredAbility to run project crews on large and/or small projects and supervise, evaluate, and develop Lead Journeymen, Journeymen, and ApprenticesExtensive knowledge of electrical systems, all phases of project installation, electrical control work, troubleshooting, and procurement of electrical material and partsKnowledge of current NEC and industry-related practices, including area classificationsHolds OSHA 30 Certification and current First Aid/CPR CertificationPhysical Requirements:Able to work off all types of ladders, lifts and elevated platforms (electric or gas powered)Able to work at various heights up to 50 feet from ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, cat walks, or other safe work areasAble to work in restricted areas, manholes, utility tunnels, crawl spaces and atticsAble to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull, and reach overheadAble to carry tools and materials up to 50 pounds from the ground to overheadAble to constantly move on feet, climbing ladders and working overheadPossess good vision (normal or corrected)Must be able to get to various customer sites as requiredWork Environment: Able to work in all elements, depending on job locations and time of yearThe above statements are intended to reflect the principal duties of the position and are not intended to be all-inclusive.
