Unit CoordinatorBoston Medical Center is seeking a Unit Coordinator for its 82-bed behavioral health hospital located in Brockton, MA. BMC Brockton operates as a behavioral health accountable care organization providing cutting edge inpatient treatment and stabilization for individuals experiencing complex mental health and substance use needs.The Unit Coordinator is responsible for providing quality care services to patients by supporting the daily operations of the inpatient psychiatric unit. The Unit coordinator will perform administrative and clerical tasks as needed, including answering phones, assisting with patient registration, assisting with intake requests and communicating with patients, staff and guests.Department: Med Surg Unit 9 - 2ASchedule: Part TimeEssential Responsibilities / Duties:Patient RegistrationCoordinate and prioritize tasks, maintaining daily flow of the unit in a complex, rapidly changing environmentCommunicate with staff, families, and other departments utilizing effective communication skillsEffectively coordinate communications involving incoming calls and e-faxGather intake information and patient recordsReview referrals and verify all informationAssist with data collection and reporting that complies with local, State and Federal guidelinesMaintain confidentiality of all patient care information to assure rights are protectedMaintain a good working rapport with interdepartmental personnel, as well as other external referring agenciesOther duties as requested by supervisorJob RequirementsEducation: HS Diploma or GED (required), Associates or Bachelor's degree (preferred)Experience: One (1) year experience in a medical environment (preferred)Effectively manage various administrative tasksExcellent organizational and time management skillsAbility to work both independently and within a teamAbility to handle multiple assignments simultaneouslyExcellent interpersonal skillsCompensation Range: $17.50- $26.00This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications.
