Since 1969, Lakeside has been the premier provider of specialized behavioral health and addictive disease services in the Memphis and Mid-South region. The 365-bed facility is one of the largest free-standing psychiatric hospitalsin the United States.We arelocatedon a serene 37-acre campus in northeast Shelby County, serving as the setting for the treatment for children, adolescents, young adults,adultsand seniors. Lakeside's comprehensive programs treat disorders such as bipolar disorder, psychological trauma, depression and anxiety, mental illness and addictive disease disorders such as alcoholism, drugaddictionand substance abuse.
Job Description
The UM Coordinatorpossessesknowledge of psychiatric clinical diagnosis and the ability to articulate those indicators professionally. The UM Coordinator evaluates patient medical records todetermineseverity of patient's illness anddeterminingthe appropriateness of level of care.Serves asliaisonfor patients andhospitalwith insurance companies. Negotiates and advocates for patient length of stay and level of care. Overseesutilizationreview activities with other departments to ensure reimbursement for services provided by the hospital.The UM Coordinatorfacilitatesphysician weekly staffing meetings and coordinates withphysician'soutpatient offices for the purposes of billing.The UM Coordinator has a working knowledge of all levels of care offered and appropriately manages patient benefits.

Qualifications
Job Requirements
Education: Masters prepared healthcare professional (Nursing, Counseling, Psychology orSocialWork)required or Registered Nurse.
Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years direct psychiatric patient care experience.
Licensure/Certification: Valid TN RN license, LCSW, or LPC preferred.
Knowledge: Mustpossessknowledge of psychiatric care,utilizationreview, insurance reimbursement procedures, DSM-V, etc. Advanced computer skills necessary.Strong analytical, organizational,verbaland written skillsrequired.
