Job description
The Role
We are hiring a working VP of Sales: a player coach who personally sells and closes while building and running the sales organization. This is not a pure people manager seat and not a pure quota carrying AE seat. You will own revenue outcomes end to end: your own pipeline and deals, plus the systems, coaching, and accountability that make the whole team predictable and scalable.
You will report directly to the Chief Revenue Officer (CRO).
Location (Mandatory)
This role is in office. You must work from one of our offices:
Remote only arrangements are not available for this position.
What You Will Own
Personal selling and deal leadership
Carry and exceed a personal quota while modeling the standard for the team
Run full cycle sales motions with contractor decision makers: discovery, demos, proposals, negotiation, and close
Join and lead strategic opportunities; jump into demos and late stage deals when it moves the needle
Translate SubcontractorHub's platform value (sales velocity, project execution, financing, AI agents, and marketplace capabilities) into clear ROI for home service operators
Sales leadership and operating cadence
Lead the sales department day to day: hiring, ramping, coaching, performance management, and culture
Set clear KPIs (activity, pipeline, conversion, win rate, cycle time, forecast accuracy, and quota attainment) and drive the team to them every week
Build and maintain sales playbooks, talk tracks, discovery frameworks, demo standards, and stage exit criteria tailored to our ICP and product
Inspect the work: regularly listen to calls, sit in on demos, review deal notes in the CRM, and coach in the moment
Run a rigorous forecast and pipeline rhythm the CRO can trust. No sandbagging. No vanity pipeline.
Process, systems, and cross functional partnership
Own CRM hygiene and sales process discipline so data, not anecdotes, drives decisions
Partner with Marketing on ICP definition, messaging, lead quality, and conversion feedback loops
Partner with Customer Success / CX and Product on handoffs, expansion signals, and competitive intel from the field
Continuously refine territories, capacity planning, and ramp plans as the team grows
What Success Looks Like
In the first 90 days, you will be closing deals yourself, diagnosing where the current motion leaks, and installing a clear operating cadence (pipeline reviews, call and demo coaching, KPI dashboards, and a living playbook).
Over the first year, you will raise team productivity, improve forecast accuracy, tighten conversion from demo to close, and leave SubcontractorHub with a repeatable sales engine, not a collection of heroics.
Who You Are
Driven and focused: you set a high bar for yourself and the team, and you do not need to be chased
A proven SaaS sales leader who has both carried quota and managed sellers (player coach experience is a strong plus)
Comfortable selling complex B2B software to SMB and mid market operators; home services, construction tech, field service, fintech adjacent, or similarly operational verticals are a plus
Skilled at building playbooks from the field, not only from a whiteboard
Excellent coach: you improve reps by reviewing real calls and demos, not by slogans
Analytical and operational: KPIs, CRM discipline, and forecast rigor are habits, not afterthoughts
Clear communicator who can earn trust with contractor owners and with internal executives
Qualifications
Required
5+ years in B2B sales, with meaningful SaaS experience
3+ years leading sales teams (managers of AEs/SDRs, or a documented player coach track record)
Demonstrated personal quota attainment and team quota attainment
Experience setting KPIs, running pipeline and forecast cadences, and coaching from call and demo review
Hands on CRM fluency (Salesforce, HubSpot, or equivalent)
Ability and willingness to work in office in Park City, UT; Lehi, UT; or Rocklin, CA
Preferred
Experience selling into home services, construction, solar/HVAC/roofing, or other field ops heavy verticals
Experience scaling a sales org through an early growth stage (building process while still selling)
Familiarity with consultative or value based methodologies (for example MEDDICC, Challenger, or similar)
Comfort selling a multi module platform with financing and operational workflows in the story
Comp and Logistics
Competitive base salary plus variable compensation tied to personal and team performance. Benefits package to be shared during the process.
Location is mandatory in office at one of: Park City, Utah; Lehi, Utah; or Rocklin, California.
