Vice President / Senior Director, Client Tax Services
Phoenix, Arizona (Near Scottsdale) | Onsite
We are partnering with a rapidly growing professional services organization seeking a senior tax leader to oversee and scale a client-focused tax advisory and compliance practice. This executive-level role will lead tax operations, client service delivery, strategic planning, and team development while serving as a trusted advisor to privately held businesses and business owners.
What You'll Do
• Lead and grow a high-performing tax services organization, including hiring, mentoring, and developing tax professionals
• Establish strategic direction, operational processes, controls, and best practices to support long-term growth
• Advise clients on tax planning, entity structuring, business transitions, and tax-efficient growth strategies
• Oversee federal, state, and local tax compliance engagements while ensuring quality, accuracy, and timeliness
• Manage client relationships, providing proactive guidance and delivering exceptional service
• Partner cross-functionally with internal advisory teams to provide comprehensive business solutions
• Support business development efforts and expansion of service offerings
• Drive revenue growth, client retention, and overall practice performance
Ideal Background
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field
• CPA strongly preferred
• 10+ years of progressive tax experience
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing tax professionals and client engagements
• Public accounting, tax advisory, or professional services experience
• Strong technical expertise in:
Business taxation
Individual taxation
Tax planning
Tax compliance
Partnership and S-Corporation taxation • Experience leading complex client-facing engagements and serving as a trusted advisor
