As a subsidiary of Ferrovial, Webber has access to a global network of skilled engineers, best-in-class technology and vast resources.Why Ferrovial?Global presence, local impact: Be part of a company that is shaping the future of infrastructure worldwide, with challenging roles and projects that make a real difference.Collaborative excellence: Work alongside talented professionals in a collaborative environment where your ideas and contributions are valued.Inclusive culture: Thrive in an innovative and respectful workplace that values every voice, celebrates what makes us unique and turns differences into innovation.Career growth: Benefit from global and cross-business unit mobility, with development processes designed to ensure your professional growth.Compelling benefits and employee wellbeing: Enjoy a comprehensive benefits package that rewards your hard work and dedication and take advantage of initiatives designed to support your physical and psychological health.Productivity tools: Utilize cutting-edge tools like Microsoft Copilot to enhance your productivity and efficiency.Position SummaryPlans, coordinates, and participates in the electrical and mechanical maintenance and repairs on movable bridges, including roadway and navigational lighting and fender systems.Primary Duties and ResponsibilitiesPlans, coordinates & participates in the electrical maintenance & repair of movable bridges and roadway lighting.Installs, maintains and repairs wiring, electrical circuits, switches, relays, resistors, contactors, lighting, motors, generators, surge arrestors, breaker, fuses, PCL, control circuits, drives, and related mechanical & hydraulic equipment.Trouble shoots and repairs bridge malfunctions.Perform Must be comfortable working from heights in bucket trucks, snooper trucks, scaffolding, ladders and aerial platforms lifts.Performs routine bridge maintenance including, cleaning contacts, lamp replacement, limit switch, adjustment/ replacement and keeping the bridge electrical systems organized and properly working.Perform routine maintenance and service Air Condition Units.Perform monthly Amperage and Megger Ohm reading on electrical motors. Maintains bridge street, navigational, traffic signal & advanced warning lighting.Performs scheduled maintenance of bridge components to ensure continuous bridge operations. Maintains span locks and traffic gates.Completes monthly maintenance logs and reports.Assists Professional Engineers in their annual inspection of the movable bridge electrical & mechanical systems.QualificationsExtensive troubleshooting experienceKnowledge of: Relay logicSwitchesTransformersMotor controlsVariable Frequency Drives (VFDs) preferredAbility to read and interpret electrical schematics and diagramsStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detailRequirementsMust live in the Cocoa Beach areaMust be available for rotating on-call assignmentsAbility to respond to the Port Canaveral Bridge within 30 minutes while on callWillingness to work overtime as neededValid driver's license with a clean driving recordAbility to pass a background check and drug screeningAbility to cooperate and communicate with co-workers and supervisors.Ability to perform basic math functions (add, subtract, multiple, divide, calculate proportions, percentages, and measurements).Ability to understand instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Education and ExperienceMinimum of HS Diploma or EquivalentJourneyman Electrician license - preferred but not requiredExperience reading movable bridge electrical plans/ blueprints/ schematic drawings – preferred but not requiredDemonstrated knowledge of structures maintenance. They must practice safe work methods to remain incident free – preferred but not requiredWork Conditions/Physical DemandsThe employee is regularly required to stand; sit; walk on a wide range of surfaces; use hands and fingers, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear.Able to ascend and descend stairs and ladders on a regular basis.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted. Use manual and powered pneumatic, hydraulic, gas, and electric powered tools and equipment. Vision abilities include both close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is routinely exposed to outside weather conditions including extreme heat and cold. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high precarious places; fume or airborne particles. Occasional exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
