Job description

Position Overview

For Women Healthcare is an independent, physician-owned OB/GYN practice in Midland, Texas, founded and led by the current sole provider. This is not a corporate health system - it's a small, close-knit practice built around one mission: caring for women at every stage of life, from age 13 onward, in the language they trust most. The Permian Basin is home to a large and growing Spanish-speaking community, and this practice has become a place where those patients feel truly heard. Visits happen in Spanish when patients prefer it, with nothing lost through a translator. For a bilingual provider, this is a rare opportunity to practice medicine the way it should feel: personal, culturally connected, and deeply appreciated.

Role and Responsibilities

The practice is hiring a Nurse Practitioner (a strong PA with genuine women's health experience will also be considered) to care for a dedicated panel of female patients, working directly alongside the sole provider and owner. New grads are welcome - there's no minimum experience requirement - though candidates with prior Labor & Delivery or Women's Health experience will have a real head start. Onboarding here is hands-on, not sink-or-swim. The sole provider/owner works directly with every new hire for the first three weeks, starting with simpler visits (follow-ups, postpartum checks, birth control counseling) and gradually building up to more complex cases as you get comfortable. You'll be joining a small, tenured team (several staff members have been with the practice 3-5 years) in a genuinely close-knit office.

A Day in the Clinic

Your schedule starts at a manageable pace and grows from there. New hires typically begin around 10 patients a day - roughly 5 in the morning and 5 in the afternoon - building toward a fuller panel of up to 25 patients a day as you settle in and, over time, develop patients of your own.

8:30 AM - 12:00 PM: Morning patient visits.

12:00 PM - 1:00 PM: Lunch break.

1:00 PM - 5:00 PM: Afternoon patient visits.

Key Responsibilities

Provide adolescent visits, well-woman exams, and preventive screening for patients ages 13 and up.

Manage gynecologic concerns and ongoing women's health care across a diverse patient panel.

Support prenatal and postpartum care, birth control counseling, and routine follow-up visits.

Communicate with and care for a primarily Spanish-speaking patient population, in Spanish, without relying on a translator.

Work independently as the only other clinician in the practice day-to-day, with direct mentorship and backup from the physician/sole provider.

Requirements

Fluent Spanish (spoken). Patients receive care in the language they're most comfortable in - this is essential to the role. 60%-70% of the patient panel are Spanish speaking.

Active FNP, WHNP or PA board certification.

Active Texas APRN or PA license.

Comfort caring for an all-female patient population, ages 13 and up, across the full scope of women's health.

New grads welcome; prior RN Labor & Delivery or Women's Health experience preferred for NPs.

Prior OB-GYN experience required for PA-C.

DEA registration is not required to start - the role rarely involves prescribing controlled substances - but candidates should be open to obtaining one over time.

Comfortable working independently in a small, solo practice, with genuine interest in building long-term patient relationships.

Benefits & Perks

Base salary: $100,000-$130,000, commensurate with experience.

Health insurance provided.

Malpractice insurance covered by the practice.

2 weeks paid vacation per year.

Budget for continuing education (CEU) courses and credits.

Hands-on mentorship and training directly from the physician owner, with room to grow your own patient panel over time.

Start Date

ASAP.

Schedule

This is a fully onsite role in Midland, Texas - there is no hybrid or telehealth flexibility. The provider is planning to open a 2nd location in Odessa, TX.

Monday-Thursday: 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.

Friday: 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM.

No call. No weekends. No evenings.
