Senior Design Engineer – Electrical Connectors (100-130K)
Due to continued business growth, we have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Design Engineer – Electrical Connectors to join an industry-leading engineering team supporting advanced connector product development.
This is a remote direct hire position, with approximately 20-25% travel to the Binghamton, NY area.

Key Responsibilities
Lead the mechanical design and development of connector products from concept through production launch.
Design plastic injection molded components and complex electromechanical assemblies.
Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior design engineers.
Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, testing, and cross-functional engineering teams to develop innovative product solutions.
Create and maintain 3D models, engineering drawings, and technical documentation using SolidWorks and ePDM.
Perform engineering analysis utilizing FEA, Mold Flow, tolerance stack-up, and design validation techniques.
Develop and maintain BOMs, ECNs, specifications, test plans, and other engineering documentation.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and root cause investigations utilizing Lean engineering tools.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
5+ years of product design experience in a manufacturing environment.
Strong experience designing plastic injection molded components.
Proficiency with SolidWorks, ePDM, FEA, and Mold Flow analysis.
Working knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and Design for Manufacturability (DFM).
Experience utilizing Lean problem-solving tools such as Root Cause Analysis and A3 methodologies.
Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop less experienced engineers.
Required Technical Experience
Circular, rectangular, high-speed, or fiber optic connectors
Contact system design, plating, mating cycles, and connector reliability
MIL-spec or other industry-standard interconnect systems
High-speed interconnect or signal integrity design experience
